£300 million retail and leisure plan for Chester

Chester West and Chester Council are in the process of putting together a £300 million retail and leisure plan for Chester that will include a new six-screen cinema plus markets and restaurants in the existing Chester Library building.

The library will be moving to the exciting new £37 million Storyhouse cultural centre which opens summer 2017 with a new theatre and cinema in a refurbished Art Deco picture house.

In addition, the old lead shot tower is being refurbished to create 65 apartments within the historic sections and contemporary wings that will connect to the tower. This £15 million project will transform what has been a derelict site since 2001.
