According to the latest stats from Reeds Rains and Your Move, rents in England and Wales have seen the fastest growth for more than 4 years. By the end of 2015, the average rent had climbed to around £794 per month, which was over 3% higher than 2014 and the fastest rate of growth since 2011.
The regions have been performing particularly well with the East of England top of the pile with rent rises recorded at nearly 8% (outperforming London which rose by 6.3%). Rents in the West Midlands and Yorkshire and Humber have also seen record rises in 2015, further illustrating how demand outside of London continues to be on an upward curve.
This is all great news for property investors who have seen excellent yields on their portfolios and, with the rise in house prices, have also seen the prices of their properties increase as well.
