Today is pancake day and the team at Barrows and Forrester are already starting to salivate over the toppings they would like on their ideal pancake. The big question is – do you go savoury or do you go sweet? The consensus with the team is that sweet is the way to go.
We asked Krishan Patel, Property Sales Consultant, what is preferred toppings would be. Now Krish is a man of simple tastes and his choice was minimal but nevertheless, classic. Lemon and a sprinkling of sugar is all that Krish wants or needs on his pancakes and we have to say, we admire his lack of complexity.
Keriche Bryant, on the other hand, the newest addition to the Barrows and Forrester property sales team, knew immediately what she wanted on her pancakes. Her sweet tooth would only be satisfied by Nutella, fresh strawberries and vanilla ice cream. We have to say this is a well thought-through combi – the pure indulgence of Nutella in conjunction with the fresh, fruity zing of strawberries with vanilla ice cream to cleanse the palate is a Michelin -starred pancake if ever we’ve heard one.
Now James Forrester, MD of Barrows and Forrester, tends to agree with Krishan. He likes is pancakes simple, beautifully fried, tossed to perfection, and liberally sprinkled with lemon and sugar. However, the kids rule the roost in the Forrester residence ( well, when it comes to pancakes anyway!). For them, only Nutella and ice cream will do.
And for me, Spencer Slater, the Copywriter and Researcher for Barrows and Forrester, something overall more fattening is what’s required. Certainly, a base-coat of lemon and sugar is needed, but this needs to be topped with fresh raspberries and copious amounts of clotted cream – a heart attack on a pancake!
Now we did try find out Adrian Barrow’s favourite toppings but we couldn’t track down his butler!
