A recent study by online letting agents PropertyLetByUs indicates that over 85% of investors prefer fully managed property investments rather than having to deal with tenants themselves.
The main reasons cited for this was having to deal with tenant complaints and issues surrounding property maintenance and repairs, preferring a property management companies to handle the situation.
Receiving phone calls and emails from disgruntled tenants is a big put-off for landlords and would-be landlords so in light of this, investors are increasingly looking towards hassle-free investments such as student property, where management is usually included or opting to engage the services of a property management company when it comes to standard buy-to-let.

Interestingly, the same study showed that out of those landlords who manage the property themselves, around 66% of them found the process more stressful than their full or part-time job, highlighting tenant complaints as the most stress-inducing area.
In light of this, and with the added headache of constantly changing legislation and tax changes, landlords are finding it difficult to property manage themselves and turning to property management companies to relieve the burden.
